Maybe it is because I lived through the dotcom meltdown that statistics like this jump out at me to this day. Noty implying anything, but it is interesting for sure.

Chicago has one of the most impressive municipal marina systems anywhere in the United States. Stretching along 14 miles of Lake Michigan shoreline, the city operates ten public harbors with more than 6,000 slips, making it the largest municipal harbor system in the country.

Even if you've lived here for years, there's a good chance you've never explored all of them.

The Skyline Looks Different From the Water

One of the best parts about boating in Chicago is that the skyline was almost designed to be viewed from Lake Michigan. From the water, there are no buildings blocking your view. It's just the city rising straight out of the shoreline.

The Tallest Home Currently For Sale In Chicago

One of the unintended consequences of operating a website called Every Chicago Listing is that you occasionally find yourself researching things that nobody asked for.

Today's example:

What is the tallest home currently for sale in Chicago?

Not the most expensive.

Not the largest.

Not the one with the best views.

Just the highest.

As it turns out, the current title belongs to a full-floor penthouse on the 91st floor of the St. Regis Chicago.

Ninety-one floors.

For perspective, most people want a home close to the ground. This one is close to commercial air traffic.

The views are spectacular. Lake Michigan. The Chicago River. The skyline. On a clear day, probably things that aren't even Chicago anymore.

The best part is that this information is almost completely useless.
